Leaving Iraq

The Cut And Run Group

Some Senators are pushing for a timeline for withdrawing our troops from Iraq. (This notion has died down because they noticed the people were not really into the idea.) Their motto appears to be, "It’s about the troops". No, it isn’t about the troops. It’s about politics; it’s about not understanding the Middle East. It’s about appeasement rather than confrontation. It’s about shortsightedness.

War is coming with several nations in the Middle East. The most likely are Syria and Iran. The invasion of Iraq may have shortened the timetable by months or even a few years. It is possible that the invasion of Iraq may result in a war with limited scope because the Iraqi war has forced some Middle East nations to decide their intentions more quickly.

Iran appears to be working with terrorist to plot attacks against the U.S. and its allies. Iran may well have nuclear weapons within a matter of a year or less. The Iranian people don’t want this war but the fanatical, religious government leaders do. They want a Muslim-Christian war in the hope of uniting all Muslims. This coming war is about ideology and religion. This war is about preserving a male dominated lifestyle, which the power hungry clergy of Iran, Syria and other Muslim countries see slowly eroding as more women in the Muslim religion are insisting on equality and are tired of being property.

This war is not just about which religion should prosper but about which gender has the right to control and manipulate the other.

I am astonished by the number of people, especially those in Congress, who cannot see beyond the Iraqi war. The invasion of Iraq has prevented several terrorist attacks within the U.S. This war upset the long-term plans of the terrorists and several Middle Easter despotic governments.

These groups are now forging new plans and terrorist attacks will begin within the next 6 to 12 months. The Iraqi war, while initially showing the U.S. had the ability and the nerve to fight terrorists, it has also shown the terrorists that American is a divided country and the world mostly wants to be left alone.

Terrorist now know that they can attack the U.S. and it allies and most of the world will mutter but fail to act. Terrorist will begin to consolidate their power through friendly governments. Governments that will gladly supply money, weapons, and people for their cause.

Iran is taking the lead and if it proves nothing really bad happens, other nations will follow. North Korea will aid these terrorists nations simply because if the U.S. can be marginalized then only China will stand in their way. China will not react because it serves their purpose to have a weaker world with a weak America. Once the U.S. is marginalized, the largest nations will start a campaign of conquest. Smaller nations will unite but to no avail. War will be the norm as civilization slips backward by hundreds of years. The major technological advances will be in weapons and warfare. Chaos will reign while wars decide who is in charge.

President G.W. Bush messed up the original plans of the terrorists by invading Afghanistan and Iraq. The next step requires a regime change in Iran and a complete isolation of North Korea. If this cannot be done in the next three years, the next president will witness the start of our destruction unless he or she shows the strength of character to stand up to the vocal Left.

The events in Iraq suggest that President Bush and his advisors went to war without thinking far enough ahead. It could be that they figured to have more than two weeks to decide what to do after winning the war. I don’t believe the military foresaw a quick war with so little of Saddam’s army being destroyed. Nor did they foresee the rise of insurgents and terrorists with so much outside assistance. I don’t believe the Iraqi war was seen as a regional war with Iraq merely being the primary battlefield.

Were mistakes made? Yes, but they were mistakes made because of the type of war that evolved. The aftermath of the Iraqi war became a large gorilla-type war without enemy headquarters or battle lines. For the terrorists it is a war without rules. The only rule for the terrorists is to kill, only the body count matters. It has become a war of not defeating the coalition but of discouraging the American people. It is now a war of political wills and we Americans have a recent track record of losing interest in an war that takes a few years.

Our liberal politicians play to that weakness as well as our lack of understanding of the war. There are many politicians who would willingly hand over the power of the U.S. to the UN. These same politicians want us to become more placid, more willing to accept all things as good. They don’t have the interest of the U.S. at heart; they are more interested in how the world sees us. Little do they seem to know that most of the world would gladly see us destroyed and willingly aid that destruction.
