A Friend

A Friend is precious as any jewel
For she will hear without judgment.
She has but one unbiased rule:
Love, give without measurement.

A true friend is a so hard to find,
So hang on, forget your fears
For a friend will always have time
To listen, love, unafraid of tears.

While a good friend is always great
The only thing so much better
Is having a friend as a true mate
She asks little, is never a debtor.

A mate that loves without concern
Forgives without being asked
Loves and expects little in return
But a love in which to bask.

If your friend is also a mate
Give thanks to the One of all
Most are not so lucky in fate
To have a friend and mate to call.
