A Witch's Spell

I’m under a hex, maybe even a spell,
Love I have known, but not like this.
I am scared but still do not quell
For her love is like the sweetest kiss.

A witch she claims to be,
Truly this must be spoken
For a fool like me can see
True love cannot be stolen.

This much I already know
Under no spell am I driven,
And in this knowledge I grow
Love was not taken but given.

I have fear but not of love
But rather can this really last?
Is it blessed by Goddess above
Or is it something more crass?

Can love between Winter and Spring
Really exist and thrive for all to see
Or will advance of time with it bring
Reality and an end to this fantasy?

Age has brought some wisdom
And some pleasures are forfeit
But to this conclusion I come
Offer all I have without regret.
