Advise From A Tree

Bent, twisted, knurled, shaped by the elements.
Still I stand, strong, growing, and relevant.
Because I have not resisted, but rather rolled
To forces greater and beyond my control.
As I have learned, in time so must you.
‘Tis better to accept and go with the flow.

Instead of fighting and wearing yourself down,
Accept what comes without even a frown.
The winds of life though often deal
Heartache and pain which we must yield
To a greater force and higher power
So we can stand tall in this life’s tower.
